Hello! My name is Celina Hjarta-Mi (they/them, she/her also okay). I live and practice on Treaty 6 territory—land stewarded since time immemorial by the Nêhiyawak (Cree), Anishinaabe (Saulteaux), Nakota Sioux, Dene, and Métis peoples. I honour the Indigenous peoples who continue to care for this land despite ongoing colonialism and genocide. I am a counselling intern completing my practicum through City University of Seattle’s Master of Counselling program.

I approach therapy with warmth, collaboration, and authenticity. My style is relational and often infused with humour, compassion, and transparency. I aim to co-create safe, affirming spaces for clients to stabilize, co-regulate, and develop coping skills as a foundation for long-term healing and change.
My practice is grounded in trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and decolonial frameworks. I draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic and body-based modalities, feminist theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and other holistic approaches that honour your mind, body, and spirit—always within the context of the systemic barriers that impact access to care and well-being.

Some of the people and concerns I most enjoy working with include:
  • 2SLGBTQIA+ emerging adults
  • Neurodivergent individuals (including autistic and ADHD individuals, who often face unique mental health challenges)
  • Complex and developmental trauma
  • Attachment wounds and childhood trauma
  • Relationship difficulties (with a focus on individual work)
  • BIPOC clients navigating identity and cultural stress
  • Body image, self-worth, and self-acceptance
  • Systemic oppression and identity-based trauma
  • Sex-positive and feminist healing—including supporting women and nonbinary folks in reclaiming pleasure, sexuality, and body autonomy
  • Holistic well-being, including emotional, physical, spiritual, and cultural aspects of healing

I am also interested in working with 2SLGBTQIA+ couples and partnerships, including those practicing ethical non-monogamy, polyamory, or kink—and I welcome all relationship structures and identities, even those not named here.

In my free time, I enjoy peaceful walks with my dog Jazmine on my acreage, often accompanied by my horses, other dogs, and sometimes even the cats. I'm an avid reader of novels, delighting in sprawling stories that blend romance and fantasy across multiple volumes. I have a sharp sense of humour that I bring into many aspects of my life, and I've always felt a deep connection to animals—often feeling closer to them than people. Though I'd love to travel more, I enjoy the quiet, homebody life with my spouse, six cats, three dogs, and two horses.

I am seeing adult individual and couples/relationships virtually.

My session rate is $0 to $75/session. I believe financial barriers should never block access to care.

If you feel I would be a good fit, please reach out via the Contact page.

I look forward to working with you!
