Studies show that the relationship between therapist and client is one of the most important factors in impactful therapy. As a result, my main goal is to help you feel heard and understood so that we can work together on the issues that brought you to therapy. I believe in people's innate capacity for growth and use this as the basis for my practice. I work with individuals of all genders, sexualities, and relationship orientations.
I am passionate about developing ongoing, long term relationships with my clients. This way, we can dive into the layered complexities of what makes you tick, exploring what prevents you from being your kindest, most resourced, and best self.
I also spend time with my clients focusing on immediate, short-term tools to use when life throws big challenges our way, like preparing for a difficult holiday with family, choosing between two dream jobs, or deciding if and when to start a family.
I’ve got a few different modalities in my ‘toolkit’. I don’t approach clients from a ‘one-size-fits-all’ lens, and I’m always open to feedback and questions so that we can find an approach that works best for you.
I’m trained as a Certified Hakomi Therapist, and I have an intersectional feminist understanding of how the circumstances of our lives impact our ability to respond effectively and well. Somatic Experiencing guides my work with clients who are trying to move forward from past traumatic events. I also like to weave mindfulness into my work as I find it’s a gentle yet effective way to uncover what’s beneath our awareness.
