Dr. Roxie McLachlan,
Provisional Psychologist

Picture
Hello! My name is Dr. Katherine Roxie McLachlan (she/her). I hold a Masters in Psychology and a Doctor of Psychology degree in Clinical Psychology from Fuller Graduate School of Psychology. I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist in the final stages of my registration process, providing virtual sessions across Alberta.

I have an intersectional feminist understanding of the various forms of oppression, the depths of inequalities, and the relationships between them. I incorporate this understanding into my work while approaching therapy from a trauma-informed and client-centered lens.

I aim to create a non-judgmental, compassionate, and safe space to help individuals understand the impact of the systems we grow up in and our early attachments on current relationships. My goal is to reframe the resulting beliefs that guide us today and work to heal in the present moment.

I am particularly passionate about working with:
  • LGBTQ+ adolescents first exploring the challenges that come with being queer-identified in a heteronormative society.
  • Couples who are struggling with effective communication, rekindling their flame, and exploring individual strengths that can be used to build the partnership.
  • Individuals recovering from domestic violence, sex trafficking, and other forms of abuse.
  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and related disorders.

Outside of work, I am a world traveler, having visited over 25 countries. Traveling is my second passion, after psychology! I have spent 10 weeks in Thailand volunteering with low-income youth from the Hilltribes. What an incredible experience! I also love yoga and meditation. I practice meditation daily. One day I’d like to become a certified yoga instructor.
I am seeing clients virtually.
My rate is offered on a sliding scale of $180 - $220/session.

If you feel I would be a good fit, please reach out via the Contact page.
I look forward to working with you!
